Yogini
Yogini is the first Brazilian fashion brand inspired by Yoga, and its values are reflected in the videos, as well as in the soundtracks. In this partnership, we have already developed songs for four videos.
The Autumn/Winter 2020 campaign had as its main theme the Mantra, a vocalization of Indian origin that must be repeated mentally to guide a meditation practice. The launch video for this collection was directed by Layla Motta and the great challenge for the composition of the soundtrack was to reach a middle ground between repetitive and discrete elements that refer to a mantra, added to unpredictable elements that allow directing the editing of the video.
Swedish artist Hilma af Klint, a medium and pioneer of abstractionism, was the inspiration for the Spring/Summer 2020 collection, entitled ‘Arte & Espiritualidade’. The digital campaign, directed by Layla Motta, features a performance by dancer Camila Ribeiro, a member of the São Paulo City Ballet, who created a performance in which she uses red crayons in a totally white space to record her movements on the floor. The soundtrack was composed from a contrast between immaterial and ethereal harmony with percussive elements and electronic beats, which lead and give rhythm to the video.
The first part of the 2019 ‘Humans’ campaign features a video directed by Louise Freschel, designer and director who had just returned from a research trip to Ethiopia and invited us to develop the soundtrack inspired by the great pianist Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou. Ethiopian music has always been of great interest to us and, coincidentally (or not), we had been studying the pianist in question for a few weeks when we were approached by the director. The second part of the collection, with a video directed by Layla Motta, portrays two girls’ escapism into nature and the relationship they establish outside the urban environment. From a sensitive point of view, the elements of the music were carefully thought out with the intention of showing the calm given by a retreat in the countryside. A delicate beat was developed to accompany the sweet harmonies and give the film’s editing rhythm.
