Lucas Leão AEther

SPFW

AEther, a greek name used to designate the fifth element, is the third collection designed by stylist Lucas Leão and was presented at the digital edition of São Paulo Fashion Week n50 as one of the event’s main attractions.

The collection reflects on the new possibilities of existence in a dystopian future through the duality between the real and the virtual, the finite and the infinite, through our experience as hybrid bodies coexisting in both physical and digital worlds.

The patterns are by artist Jemima Kos and were made according to the frequencies of television monitors and old analog equipment. The real pieces were modeled in 3d by artists Pepapuke and Sogno, and were inserted in sometimes surreal, sometimes apocalyptic environments.

Bloco was invited to create the presentation’s soundtrack, weaving into the film’s scenes and heightening the collection’s theme through a dissonant, digital sonic palette. Musical patters rapidly dissolve into noise, blurring the lines between ambience and music, amplifying the indeterminate character of the future.
