Lucas Leão AEther

SPFW

AEther, a Greek name used to designate the fifth element, is the third collection designed by fashion designer Lucas Leão and was presented at the digital edition of São Paulo Fashion Week n50 as one of the event’s major highlights.

The collection reflects on new possibilities of existence in a dystopian future through the duality between the real and the virtual, the finite and the infinite, based on our experiences as hybrid bodies that coexist in both the physical and digital worlds.

The prints were created by artist Jemima Kos and developed from the color frequencies of old televisions and analog devices. The physical garments were digitally modeled by 3D artists Pepapuke and Sogno, and inserted into contexts that are at times surreal and at times apocalyptic.

Bloco was invited to compose the soundtrack for the presentation, which intertwines inseparably with the film’s scenes and amplifies the collection’s theme through a highly dissonant sound design. Musical patterns quickly dissolve into noise, blurring the boundaries between ambience and music and amplifying the uncertain nature of the future.
