A.Niemeyer’s presentation at the digital edition of São Paulo Fashion Week n50, celebrating 25 years of the event, represents a look inwards. Titled “Origem” (Origin), the collection retrieves what is most essential since the brand’s inception: timelessness, which here appears associated with a palette of neutral colors, natural textures and basic and comfortable fits. In the presentation film, old pieces are interspersed with contemporary and upcoming entries.

Bloco was invited to produce the soundtrack, divided in 4 parts: the introduction presents a dulcet electric piano tone, over which echo delicate sounds of digitally-programmed metallic drums, colored in by an atmosphere situated somewhere between the natural and the unknown. During the second part, the electric piano passes into an ascending and descending rhythmic line, bringing to the listener’s attention a recognizable musical pattern, which takes the forefront and sustains itself over continuous synthesizer chord sequences. After a brief pause, the third bart begins to build over two interchanging electric piano chords, working as a bridge in anticipation of the piece’s final part. Finally, the last part comes in to flesh out the electric piano chords, with a bassline and synthesizer harmony defining the piece’s conclusion until the instruments stop, leaving only an ambience accompanying the film’s final credits.
