We produced the soundtrack for the audiovisual version of the editorial “Hide & Seek”, cover of the “Underground” edition of Vogue Portugal in October 2021.

The construction of the music lies within a spectrum of lower-BPM electronic music, also called Downtempo. For instrumentation, synthesizers work as atmospheric harmonic beds where the beat manages to stand out, supported by a synthetic bass that sometimes sustains the harmony in a single note or sustains the melody through an arpeggio. A part of the beat also acquires a melodic function because it is tuned according to the musical scale used, especially the bass drum and toms, made with the Roland 808 drum machine tones. 

The final form of the song was consolidated through some back and forth with the video editing team so that some transitions were marked at the right moments, in order to sustain the visual narrative desired by the director.
