Original soundtrack for the video “Disco Pink”, one of the digital pieces from the beauty editorial published by Vogue Brasil in the September 2022 issue.

Driven by the arrival of Maison Valentino’s Winter 22/23 collection in Brazil, the brand partnered with Pantone to create a unique shade of pink that influenced the entire industry and, as a result, also defined the chromatic palette of the video.

For the music, the main reference was Italo-Disco, an Italian variation of Disco Music that emerged in the late 1970s and points toward positivity with a certain dose of hedonism. Soul Music samples recorded at the time were cut and used as the main element in building the track’s introduction, a technique quite characteristic of this musical style. For the second part, we used vocal cuts with echoes and delays that construct a somewhat prismatic bridge leading into the next section of the music. In the third part, we made more intensive use of synthesizers with rhythmic lines, adding weight and bringing the track closer to the Italian variation of Disco Music. The beat was entirely created using samples from the classic Roland 707 drum machine, timbres that defined the main Dance Music styles of that era. In addition, the finalization of the track was carried out with the help of digital plugins that simulate the sonic characteristics of vinyl records released in the early 1980s.
