2021 signaled a paradigm shift in Scottish premium liquor company Johnnie Walker‘s positioning. Historically focused on a male public, the company’s Brazilian branch produced the first Mother’s Day campaign in its history. Blue Label, their most emblematic product, was selected for a toast in the journey of a team of iconic mothers: Carol Bassi, Djamila Ribeiro, Rachel Maia and Silvia Braz, along with the artist Verena Smith, the project’s ambassador, who also designed the special edition bottle.

Bloco was invited to develop the original soundtrack for the campaign’s main video, “Manifesto”. We followed an intimate musical path, entering a harmonic field that sometimes remains open-ended and sometimes comes to a close. We sought something that sounded familiar and brought back charges of welcoming affective memories.
